New Year, New Vision: 2014 Edition

It's that time of year again, time for setting goals and making plans. My vision board for 2014 looks pretty similar to my 2013 vision board, with a few additional highlights. I fell in love with running and physical fitness in 2013, so in 2014 I plan on getting a personal trainer certificate so that I can teach aerobics and group fitness classes as a fun side hustle. Yep, I'm gonna be that chick who walks around the gym in a sports bra and leggings just because I can...LOL. Aside from that, another major goal I have is tightening up my credit score and boosting my savings. I'm close to that coveted 750+ club, and I really want to focus on getting there, as home ownership is definitely happening in 2015. And finally, I plan on getting more involved with community service by securing more partnerships for my mentoring program, and seeking out volunteer opportunities once per month. I'm on the look out for a new job as well. Putting in 65+ hours a week at an urban charter school is starting to take its toll on me, and for the sake of my sanity its time for a change.

One other important mantra I'm focusing on for 2014 is embracing the idea that happiness is now! Sometimes, I can get so caught up on the things that I don't have that I forget to be grateful for the things there are to be happy about in this moment. And I have plenty to be happy about.

Here's to another year of fabulous, purposeful, vivacious, sexy living!
